Full Job Description

Izakaya Hachi, a well-established Japanese restaurant with roots in Japan, is currently seeking experienced Line Chefs with a passion for their craft, excellent knife skills, and attention to detail.

Candidates with experience preparing quality Japanese dishes, cooking on the Robata Grill, preparing tempura as well as seafood and carefully crafted appetizers and side dishes are encouraged to apply.

Our Line Chefs are responsible for operational performance in the kitchen of the restaurant including managing inventories, opening and closing of the kitchen and preparation of exceptional food. Line Chefs are responsible for the quality and presentation of all food that leaves the kitchen and are expected to take pride in each dish they prepare.

Our restaurant is based on a concept that first opened its doors in Tokyo more than 70 years ago. Today we are a premier chain of Japanese Izakaya and barbecue (yakiniku) restaurants and continue to bring our customers the best-tasting dishes including wagyu and angus meats as well as fresh seafood while providing an enjoyable Japanese dining experience.

We want you to have:

Candidates with experience cooking on the robata grill and/or tempura preparation will be given preference - these are critical work stations for our menu items.
Previous experience in a high-volume, upscale casual restaurant.
Minimum 3+ years of full-service kitchen experience.
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations to create dishes that appeal to the guests and carefully follows corporate recipes.
A commitment to creating quality experience for our guests.
A team-oriented mentality.
The ability to work well under pressure.
