Full Job Description

The Special Education Coordinator provides an additional layer of leadership, expertise, and hands-on support for students with more complex special education needs across Scholarship Prep. This role partners closely with site-based case managers, school staff, Principals, and families to help ensure students receive the individualized support they need to be successful.

Every student has a site-based case manager who manages the student's day-to-day special education program. The Coordinator serves as an additional layer of leadership, expertise, and support rather than functioning as the student's primary case manager.

This position would support multiple campuses across Southern California.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support students with complex or higher-level special education needs across multiple SP campuses

Provide additional guidance and expertise to site-based case managers, teachers, service providers, and Principals.

Help school teams understand student needs and identify appropriate supports, accommodations, and strategies.

Provide direct student support while on campus when additional intervention or expertise is needed.

Support preparation for complex IEP meetings, including reviewing student data, services, goals, and areas of concern.

Participate in IEP and family meetings when additional SPED leadership or support is needed.

Partner with families to strengthen communication, problem-solve concerns, and support student success.

Coach and support site-based case managers with challenging or complex student situations.

Coordinate with SPED leadership when students require additional resources, services, or organizational support.

Travel between SP campuses based on student and campus needs; mileage reimbursement is provided.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required.
Valid California Education Specialist Credential required.
Administrative Services Credential preferred.
Minimum five (5) years of successful experience in special education.
Experience serving as an IEP case manager.
Strong knowledge of IDEA, California Special Education law, and SELPA procedures.
Experience coaching adults or leading professional development preferred.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $112,000.00 per year
