Overview:

UCI Health is one of California’s largest academic health systems and the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine. Established on July 1, 1976, UCI Health has grown into a 1,461-bed health system that includes UCI Health — Orange, UCI Health — Irvine, four Community Network hospitals and a growing network of ambulatory care centers across Orange and Los Angeles counties.

As Orange County’s only academic health systems, UCI Health is home to the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center based in the county, the region’s only American College of Surgeons-verified Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma center, American College of Emergency Physicians Gold Level 1 Geriatric Emergency Department and a nationally recognized regional burn center verified by the American Burn Association. Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This incumbent acts as both a functional and technical analyst in the development, upgrade, enhancement and support of financial and administrative systems. (Epic Referrals, Cadence, appointment request routing/authorizations, scheduling and related 3rd party systems). Independently maintains and manages large modules of an enterprise clinical information system or department specialty system. Facilitates decisions and work efforts which affect applications and patient care practices. Participates in the analysis and design of data communication links between systems.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications:

Working knowledge of inpatient and/or ambulatory clinic workflows
Understanding of Work Flow Engine Rule and Order Transmittal
Understanding of Epic User Security
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must have working knowledge of client/server systems, relational database structures and reporting tools
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer
Experience working with Epic EMR and its various modules
Experience using/implementing/supporting an EMR in a hospital and/or ambulatory setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Current certification in Epic Cadence
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Ability to self initiate and effectively problem solve issues
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to function as a project leader and project member
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques for the purpose of problem resolution
2-4 years Epic build experience in Cadence and referrals

Preferred Qualifications:

Project Coordination / management experience
Must possess a working knowledge of HL7 and other interface/integration strategies
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Epic certification in Referrals and Prelude
