About IPC

InjuryPro Capital is a specialty finance firm that acquires and advances against medical accounts receivable owed to healthcare providers who treat personal-injury patients on a lien, letter of protection (LOP), or assignment of benefits (AOB) basis. Because repayment ultimately comes from a future case settlement rather than the provider's balance sheet, our business runs on disciplined underwriting, careful collection tracking and tight financial controls across the InjuryPro Management Fund.

About the Role

We're hiring an Underwriter to sit at the intersection of credit decisioning and portfolio analytics. You'll communicate with and underwrite incoming provider receivables — verifying the provider, the coding and the medical documentation behind every claim, build and maintain collection curve models that compare actual recovery against projected recovery over time, and process receivables batches through funding. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone who can move fluently between a legal/compliance checklist, a CPT fee schedule and portfolio spreadsheet.

What You'll Do

Underwriting

Conduct full Provider Audits on new and existing provider relationships: Secretary of State standing and filings, principal background checks, active medical license verification and UCC lien searches to confirm IPC isn't subordinate to a competing lender's blanket claim on the provider's assets or receivables.
Confirm each provider location is a real, operating practice via site visit or documented desk verification.
Roll up audit findings into a PASS / FAIL / WARNING / NOT COMPLETE / SUBJECT TO FINAL VALIDATION rating and route for Project Manager and President sign-off before funding.
Apply the correct state-specific underwriting track — a shared document set for states like Florida and Texas versus Michigan's distinct no-fault process (rolling PIP statute, insurer notice requirements, retrospective-only assignment of benefits, and active-suit confirmation once a claim is past its statute of limitations).
Calculate each file's statute of limitations from date of loss and state of accident; reject files where the statute has expired with no suit on file.
Review CPT codes and billed amounts per date of service from initial intake through final case system entry, confirming completeness and consistency.
Run historical pricing audits comparing a provider's billing against the Medicare fee schedule to build a weighted-average pricing benchmark and combine it with the provider's historical collection and write-off performance to set an assumed collection rate and resulting payment percentage against IPC's target return on invested capital.
Complete additional underwriting steps for surgical claims, including comparing billed charges to policy limits and escalating or declining files that exceed established risk thresholds.
Verify that invoices, provider notes, and imaging (MRI/X-ray) are complete and internally consistent for every billed date of service; flag documentation mismatches as potential fraud risk and pull unsupported charges from the file.
Perform attorney-of-record verification calls on sampled files for new provider relationships, escalating to full-batch validation when failure rates exceed set tolerances.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field.
Experience in underwriting, asset-based lending, factoring, healthcare receivables or another specialty finance environment strongly preferred.
Comfort reading and reconciling CPT codes, medical billing records and clinical documentation; healthcare billing or medical-legal experience is a plus.
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; ability to build and interpret pricing benchmarks.
High attention to detail and comfort working within a compliance-driven, dual-sign-off process.
Ability to synthesize legal, medical, and financial information into a clear funding recommendation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional coordination with Compliance, Collections, and senior leadership.
