job summary:

A new Tatum Consulting project on site in Dallas, Texas with a fast-growing infrastructure startup actively targeting a Nasdaq IPO-is seeking an autonomous, technology-forward SOX Program Manager / Internal Controls Consultant. In this role, you will build our risk control framework completely from scratch and optimize Workiva to support our SOX efforts and SEC filing requirements.

This project requires the consultant to play a pivotal role in their system implementations and IPO readiness. This is a high-visibility project at the center of an exciting pre-IPO transformation. You will assist a growing firm transitioning from Canadian/CAD standards for a US exchange listing. This project will be require a 6-7 months in duration and will require work to be performed on-site in Dallas, Texas.

responsibilities:

Design, build, and implemen t an overarching SOX internal control framework and Risk Control Matrix (RCM) from scratch (no segregation of duties, no ITGC rules that are formalized).
Utilize and optimize Workiva for SOX and also to support SEC filing requirements, setting up worksheets, performing calculations, and establishing error-free data linking ahead of SEC comments. The client feels this is a minor part of the project, they lack the time to complete it themselves and need someone to own this task.
Serve as a hands-on, collaborative "team player" willing to take ownership of side projects and assist where needed to ensure audit readiness.
Drive project management and coordinate with internal accounting/financial reporting resources to vet and finalize deliverables.

qualifications:

Must have publicly traded company accounting standards experience (CPA preferred or CIA).
Must have experience in creating a Control Framework
Consultant must be local to Dallas, Texas
Expertise/Hands-on experience with Workiva (FS reporting & SOX/ICFR); exposure to QuickBooks Online and NetSuite.
Must have technical expertise in US GAAP, Financial Statement Reporting, and SOX / ICFR Program Management.
High autonomy, strong leadership presence, and a technology-forward mindset.
