Litigation Attorney – Construction & Creditors’ Rights Hicks Law Group PLLC Downtown Dallas, TX Full-time

Why This Is a Great Opportunity Join an established boutique construction and creditors’ rights firm that gives attorneys real ownership of cases from day one. You will handle meaningful litigation for large material and equipment suppliers across Texas, gain substantial hands-on courtroom and pre-litigation experience, and work in a collaborative, low-ego environment that rewards initiative, hard work, and attention to detail.

About Us Hicks Law Group PLLC (HLG) is located in downtown Dallas. We primarily represent suppliers in the commercial construction industry on mechanic’s lien claims, payment bond claims, and related commercial litigation statewide. Our practice is fast-paced and client-focused. We value innovative, efficient problem-solvers who want to become true members of the HLG team rather than just another billable resource.

Responsibilities

Manage an independent case load as lead counsel under partner guidance, with increasing autonomy.
Handle pre-litigation lien claims, payment bond claims, and related demands.
Handle litigation files from the first demand letter, through the full litigation process including post-judgment collection when needed.
Handle all motion practice including Motions for Summary Judgment on most litigation files.
Conduct discovery, legal research and prepare for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
Negotiate settlement when appropriate.
Act as lead counsel for hearings, mediations, depositions, and other proceedings as needed.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal team members.
Help resolve matters efficiently while delivering strong results for supplier clients.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Active Texas law license in good standing (required).
1–3 years of litigation experience preferred (construction litigation, commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, lien/payment bond claims, or related business litigation strongly preferred).
Strong legal writing, research, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the team.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Interest in hands-on construction and creditors’ rights work.

Compensation & Benefits The compensation model is a base salary, plus quarterly bonuses for meeting or exceeding billable hour targets. We also offer:
