Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Production Control Planner is a multi-faceted role within the organization which requires a specific focus on the customer, both internally and externally. This position manages the material movement within the facility, sets priorities and ensures customer orders are carefully planned, released, and managed throughout the manufacturing process. Success in this position requires a keen sense of ownership and attention to detail. This position relies heavily on understanding the manufacturing processes, understanding our product portfolio and understanding our MRP system and its relationship to purchasing, production and finance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities of Production Control Planner

 Enter Customer Orders with accuracy and in a timely manner. Confer with document originators to resolve discrepancies

 Run and Interpret MRP output to schedule the issuance/release of manufacturing work orders, rework jobs and purchase requisitions

 Setup and maintain routings - track and expedite items to meet on time demand

 Keep backorder file in established sequence and release back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available

 Process inventory transactions, including stocking tickets, backorders, and warehouse transfers

 May perform stocking and distribution as required

 Prepares reports and documents as requested or required

 Assist Shipping to acquire quotes from 3rd party vendors for shipments

 Setup and maintenance of part numbers

 Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements of Production Control Planner

 Must have a strong customer focus and a desire to constantly look for opportunities to improve

 Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with inter-company personnel

 Must have good organizational skills and be able to manage multiple tasks in a high stress environment

 Must have an extreme sense of urgency and diligent attention to detail

 Must possess strong computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word, and strong experience with MRP/ERP systems (Infor’s Syteline/CSI system is preferable)

 Expected to work overtime during peak workload conditions

 Should be initiative-taking and able to work with minimum supervision

 2 years of directly related experience

 Documented US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status

Physical Requirements of Production Control Planner

Must have the ability to climb stairs, walk, sit, stand, file, keyboard for several hours consecutively, see, hear, and and speak/understand English. This position works from the Unitron facility.
