Job Description, Tasks, Skills

Assist CEO in managing and implementing TAAG program offerings.

Ensure programs are accessible, culturally responsive, and trauma informed.

Build and manage organizing chapters.

Recruit and train volunteers, supporters and chapter members.

Build power in small communities most affected by social injustices; develop leadership pipelines from participants to organizers.

Assist the CEO with developing curricula and workshops.

Plan and execute advocacy campaigns.

Coordinate with external partners, coalition members, and allied organizations.

Develop messaging, talking points, and strategic communications for advocacy campaigns.

Represent the organization in coalitions; manage joint campaigns and shared resources.

Monitor program impact and data.

Work with the CEO to oversee program budgets, grants management, and reporting to funders.

Hire, supervise, and develop program staff.

Co-facilitate chapter meetings, community trainings and workshops.

Represent TAAG at various community events and meetings.

Support TAAG programs and initiatives through advocacy and conducting issue-based research to refine local/national campaign initiatives

Respond to changing community needs and demands

Work non-traditional hours.

Other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications

Have a strong understanding of Black liberation frameworks and community organizing.

Belief in community organizing to improve community development.

Commitment to social justice and Black liberation.

Flexibility and strong communication skills.

Outgoing personality and ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds.

Strong organizational skills with ability to manage diverse projects simultaneously.

Have at least 3 years or more experience managing community programs and staff.

One year or more experience with community organizing.

Strategic thinking and project management.

Collaboration and coalition-building across diverse groups.

This position has the possibility of being promoted internally to Executive Director within 2-4 years, based on agency capacity and needs.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $42,500.00 per year
