Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and proficiency with various machining tools and software. The CNC Machinist will play a critical part in ensuring high-quality production while adhering to safety and efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and lathes, primarily using Fanuc controls.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to produce accurate components.
Utilize CAD/CAM software and other CAM programming tools to develop machining programs.
Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments.
Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling, and machine operation.
Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining tasks; perform tool changes efficiently.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation when necessary.
Maintain documentation of machining processes and quality checks; participate in continuous improvement initiatives like lean manufacturing practices.
Assist with assembly processes or plastics injection molding as needed within the manufacturing environment.

Experience

Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls or similar systems.
Strong background in CNC programming, including G-code editing and CAM software such as SolidWorks CAM or equivalent.
Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, mechanical principles, and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding techniques, and plastics injection molding is a plus.
Experience working with precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Basic math skills necessary for measurement conversions and calculations related to machining tolerances.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while maintaining high-quality standards. 5 years shop experience in machining of close tolerance medium to large size parts
Proficient in shop math, trigonometry, measuring techniques and geometric tolerancing
Able to read blueprints
