Job Overview

A successful restaurant group is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join an established full-service restaurant on Long Island.

The owners are experienced restaurant operators with a wide portfolio of successful concepts throughout Manhattan, the outer boroughs, and Long Island. This is an opportunity to join a strong operation and work alongside an experienced culinary and ownership team.

We are looking for a highly organized, hands-on culinary leader who takes pride in consistency, execution, and developing people. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable leading a busy service, managing kitchen systems, and ensuring the team is prepared for success every day.

The Role

Support the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations
Lead and manage the kitchen team during service
Ensure consistent execution of recipes, quality standards, and presentation
Maintain strong organization across prep, production, storage, and daily kitchen operations
Assist with ordering, receiving, inventory, and food-cost controls
Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures
Train, coach, and develop culinary team members
Help manage scheduling, staffing, and daily kitchen needs
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
Step in as a leader and decision-maker when the Executive Chef is not present

Ideal Candidate

Proven Sous Chef or strong Chef de Cuisine experience in a full-service restaurant
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Strong leadership and communication skills
Comfortable managing a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of food quality, consistency, prep, and execution
Greek or Mediterranean culinary experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of food cost, inventory, ordering, and kitchen controls
Hands-on, accountable, and willing to lead by example
Passionate about hospitality and developing a strong culinary team

Compensation: $70,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
