Full Job Description

Maxxima is seeking an organized, detail-oriented HR Assistant to support our Human Resources department and help create an exceptional employee experience. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this role provides hands-on experience across recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, HR technology, employee engagement, and compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in human resources while making a meaningful impact within a collaborative and employee-focused environment.

This is a full-time onsite position based in Hauppauge, NY, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Limited travel to our Lake Park, FL location may be required on an as needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Support recruiting activities, including job postings, resume screening, phone screens, interview scheduling, and ATS maintenance
Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employment documentation
Maintain knowledge of laws related to company policies and procedures
Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee inquiries
Support performance reviews, employee training, and compliance initiatives
Maintain employee records and status changes in the HCM system
Generate HRMS reports, analytics, workflows, and dashboards as needed
Research HR tech, trends, and best practices to enhance efficiency
Coordinate company events, employee programs, and HR projects
Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Provide clerical and administrative support to the HR department
Perform additional HR duties as assigned

Requirements:

Associate's degree required. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred
2+ years of HR or administrative support experience
Basic understanding of labor laws and HR best practices
Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, and/or benefits administration
Experience with HRIS, HRMS, or HCM platforms preferred; Paylocity experience a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and data
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
Ability to build positive working relationships and communicate effectively with employees at all levels
Maintain a results driven approach to resolving HR matters
Demonstrated integrity with the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
