Full Job Description

Job Summary

Maintains the records of Ongweoweh’s subsidiary companies and supports the Subsidiary Accounting Manager with various related projects and/or tasks. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, accounts receivable collections, account analysis, cash management functions, reconciliations, monthly journal entries and other accounting tasks, prepares and records assets, liability, revenues and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances sub-ledgers by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. Prepares month-end entries including payroll, depreciation, and expense accruals/allocations. Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss and other statements.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Two years of bookkeeping/accounting experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Full Details:

A Typical Day as a Staff Accountant

45% Maintain the accounting records of subsidiary companies including processing accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions. Prepares monthly journal entries and resolves discrepancies as they relate to vendor and customer balances or payments.

40% Completes reconciliations and month end analysis reports. Resolves discrepancies as they relate to general ledger accounts. Completes and prepares financial reports in a professional manner.

10% Prepares and gathers documents and records for audit exams and works directly with external auditors.

5% Assists with various projects and tasks as assigned.

Equipment, Machines and Software We Use:

Ability to operate various office equipment including computer, printer, telephone, fax machine, and photocopier.

Computer Software: Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power BI, QuickBooks

Valuable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for This Position

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Must be able to perform basic personal computer skills that include ending/receiving e-mail messages, posting information to a database or spreadsheet, performing basic word processing, bookkeeping, and/or data entry, and creating spreadsheets, graphics, and reports using standard software applications.
Knowledge of purchase orders and related accounts payable documentation
Knowledge of sales orders and related accounts receivable documentation
Ability to calculate numbers, create spreadsheets, correct entries, and post to records.
Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Excellent attention to detail.
