Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Payroll Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the accurate processing of payroll, ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, and handle sensitive employee information with the utmost confidentiality. Your expertise in payroll systems and accounting software will contribute to smooth payroll operations, supporting our organization’s commitment to employee satisfaction and legal compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties

Excellent Microsoft Office Computer skills
Enter and verify data related to employee hours, wages, benefits, deductions, and tax information with precision
Reconcile payroll accounts and perform general ledger entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
Maintain compliance with employment laws, tax regulations, and labor law requirements across all payroll activities
Prepare detailed reports on payroll transactions, tax filings, and benefits administration for internal review
Support HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data management and updates
Assist with benefits administration including enrollment processing and vendor communications

Requirements

Proven experience in payroll management or accounting roles with a focus on payroll processing and reconciliation
Experience in School District or Public Accounting
Strong knowledge of employment law, tax law, labor law compliance, and financial concepts related to payroll
Skilled in using spreadsheets and accounting software for data entry, analysis, and reporting
Familiarity with time & attendance systems and HRIS platforms for seamless data integration
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines
Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks such as journal entries and double entry bookkeeping
