SENIOR ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

Join the growing Sesame Solar team and help make Mobile Nanogrids that solve big problems for big companies and government agencies, including solar + batteries + hydrogen-powered Solutions for military use, disaster/emergency preparedness and rapid response to extreme weather events (wildfires, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes and storms) that can be setup by one person in less than 15 minutes. Successful candidates respect science, and have at least 5 years of relevant experience, are electrically and mechanically skilled, skilled at fabrication, using shop tools and reading blueprints, making accurate measurements, and performing careful and quality work on time and on budget. They are good team members, safety conscious, great problem solvers, have good oral and written communications skills, and can work well independently as well. They are curious and interested in learning new skills. Those who perform well can advance to other roles in the company, and receive performance bonuses. Job Summary:

The Senior Electrical Technician is a crucial role in the development and production of Sesame Solar's innovative Nanogrid systems. This position requires a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering principles, as well as hands-on experience with fabrication and assembly techniques. The ideal candidate will be a skilled craftsman with a passion for sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble components for Sesame Solar's Nanogrid systems, including solar panels, battery storage, and hydrogen fuel cells.

· System Assembly & Integration: Lead the wiring and integration of low-voltage DC circuits (12V/24V/48V) and high-power 3-phase AC systems.

· Power Conversion: Install and configure power electronics, specifically focused on DC-to-AC inverters and power conversion modules.

· HVAC Maintenance: Install, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC systems integrated into specialized electrical enclosures or mobile units

Install and troubleshoot electrical wiring, controls, and instrumentation within the Nanogrid systems.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
Identify and resolve electrical problems, working closely with engineers to develop solutions.
Experience with air conditioning systems.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

Technical degree or equivalent experience in electrical.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical assembly, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Strong knowledge of electrical principles.
Proficiency in using various tools and equipment, including electrical testing instruments.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensuring that all components meet the highest standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with solar panel installation and maintenance.
Knowledge of battery storage systems and their operation.
Certification in relevant fields.

Additional Skills Desired:

--Ability to lift moderate weight (up to 40 lbs.)
--Ability to drive a forklift

Common For All -

Hours are Mon-Fri 7:30 am to 4:00 pm ET Monday to Friday. Overtime and weekend work required at times to meet customer deadlines.

Part-time schedule available as well.
