About Us
Property Disaster Restoration is a full-service restoration and reconstruction company based in Jackson, Michigan. We help homeowners and businesses recover after water damage, fire damage, storm damage, mold issues, and other property disasters.
Our work includes emergency response, jobsite cleanup, demolition, dry out support, mold clean-up, board ups, rebuilds, and general restoration repairs. We are looking for a dependable General Laborer / Restoration Helper to join our team as a W-2 employee.
Position Summary
The General Laborer will assist with restoration, cleanup, demolition, rebuild, and jobsite support work. This is a hands-on field position for someone who is reliable, willing to learn, and comfortable working in different types of residential and commercial properties.
This position is not a 1099 contractor role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with restoration and reconstruction projects
- Help with demolition, debris removal, and jobsite cleanup
- Support water damage dry out work, equipment setup, and material removal
- Assist with mold clean-up preparation and containment-related tasks
- Help with board ups, emergency securement, and storm damage cleanup
- Carry materials, tools, equipment, and supplies
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites
- Follow directions from project leads, technicians, and supervisors
- Use basic hand tools and power tools safely
- Protect customer property and maintain a professional appearance
- Perform other restoration, repair, and labor tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior construction, restoration, demolition, maintenance, or general labor experience preferred
- Willingness to learn restoration and rebuild work
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Comfortable working in homes, businesses, crawlspaces, basements, and damaged properties
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Must be able to maintain a professional attitude with customers and coworkers
Helpful Skills
- Basic carpentry
- Drywall removal or installation
- Painting or finish work
- Flooring removal or installation
- Basic tool knowledge
- Demolition or cleanup experience
- Water, fire, storm, or mold restoration experience
Work Environment
This position involves physical work in a variety of jobsite conditions. Work may include properties affected by water damage, fire damage, storm damage, mold, smoke, debris, or structural damage. Some projects may require urgent response, schedule flexibility, or work outside normal business hours.
