Full Job Description

Hatch Stamping Company is seeking a highly organized and motivated HR Administrative Assistant to support the HR Director at our Chelsea, MI headquarters. This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in Human Resources and gain hands-on exposure to every facet of the HR function — including payroll, benefits, recruiting, and data/reporting. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

What You'll Do

Track and maintain HR data, reports, and metrics with a heavy emphasis on Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, and data tracking tools)
Learn payroll processes and procedures; serve as backup payroll support
Learn employee benefits administration and support day-to-day benefits questions and processing
Assist with recruiting activities, including scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communication, and supporting the hiring process
Perform accurate and timely data entry across HR systems and files
Provide general administrative support to the HR Director
Maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive employee and company information
Support other HR projects and initiatives as assigned

Highly detail-oriented with strong accuracy in data tracking and entry
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet tight deadlines
Positive, professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
Strong Excel skills required (or strong aptitude and willingness to build advanced skills quickly)
Genuine interest in pursuing a long-term career in Human Resources
Strong organizational and time-management skills
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field a plus
