Uniformed Security Officer positions are open & available this month at premium posts. We are Mississippi's oldest and & prestigious professional security service agency, Pendleton Security. Pay rates vary from this posting's minimums & are available across most classes of qualifications & capabilities of each applicant. Specific pay rates offered will be discussed after basic evaluations. Applicants must have a documented successful prior work history of at least ten (10) years in any field of work (no prior security experience is necessary).

* You must be 21 years of age or older to apply.

* High School graduate or GED equivalent.

* You must have at least ten (10) years of successful work experience which can be verified during a background check.

Since 1920, we have employed personnel for public relations posts, desk & console positions, roving, foot & mobile patrol assignments, among many others. Specific assignments each have their own unique duty set & pay structure and will be discussed with all applicants after a brief pre-application for employment screening.

We are hiring for various posts in Clinton, Brandon, Madison, Ridgeland, Canton, Flowood, Jackson, Pearl & Gluckstadt areas. Prior security experience is not necessary; good people skills are required. Honest & dependable individuals with previous job stability may qualify. We provide all general & job specific security &/or public relations training in-house. Prior military experience closely resembles our expected standards and is encouraged, but not required. Important considerations are an honest & stable prior work history (of any kind), mature individuals with good people skills, a clean criminal history & no illegal drug use.

General Security Officer Responsibilities may include:

Patrol premises to establish & maintain a visible presence.
Stationary desk posts for access control.
Monitor & authorize entrance of vehicles &/or people.
Check & secure exits, doors, windows, etc.
Monitor surveillance cameras.
Respond to on-site issues which may arise.
Provide assistance as needed.
Submit reports of daily & important occurrences

Familiarity with report writing.
Dependability and honesty.
Presenting a professional image at all times.

Summary of Job Description:

- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises
- Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety and security of the facility
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
- Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
- Escort individuals to specified locations or provide personal protection as needed

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Familiarity with report writing
- Observation skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle conflicts and resolve issues calmly and professionally
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques and procedures
- Previous experience in security, corrections, law enforcement or military service is a plus, but not necessary
