Biscuit Bar, a new dog treatery + café from MODERNBEAST, is looking for a experienced Barista to join our team.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in making great coffee, values consistency and cleanliness, and genuinely enjoys creating a warm, welcoming experience for guests. Our ideal candidate is confident behind a La Marzocco espresso machine, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, passionate about dogs, and naturally team-oriented, flexible and dependable.
THE ROLE
As a Barista, you will oversee the day-to-day coffee service at Biscuit Bar while helping train and support the broader café team.
You will work closely with our front-of-house and bakery teams (human + dogs) to keep service running smoothly and ensure the experience feels thoughtful, welcoming and true to the brand.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso beverages, coffee and specialty drinks to Biscuit Bar standards
- Dial in espresso and maintain consistent extraction throughout the day
- Operate and properly care for our La Marzocco espresso machine, grinders and other coffee equipment
- Lead daily coffee station setup, prep, cleaning and closing
- Keep the bar clean, organized and efficient
- Help maintain Biscuit Bar recipes, standards and procedures
- Train and support team members on espresso and beverage preparation
- Work closely with the bakery and front-of-house teams to coordinate orders and service
- Provide warm, knowledgeable and genuine hospitality to guests
- Answer questions about coffee, pastries, dog treats and the Biscuit Bar experience
- Help troubleshoot service issues and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- Monitor coffee and beverage inventory and communicate ordering needs
- Step into other areas of the café when needed, including register, food running, retail and guest service
- Help maintain the overall cleanliness, organization and presentation of Biscuit Bar
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- 3+ years of professional barista experience
- Strong espresso and coffee experience
- Experience dialing in espresso and troubleshooting extraction
- Comfortable operating and maintaining commercial espresso equipment
- Knowledge of proper bar cleaning, food safety and sanitation
- Ability to consistently prepare quality espresso beverages
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly during busy service
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Reliable, punctual and organized
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
- Willingness to jump in wherever needed in a small café environment
- Genuine interest in dogs, animals and creating a welcoming environment for both people and pets
Preferred
- Specialty coffee shop experience
- Experience training or mentoring other baristas
- Experience with La Marzocco equipment
- Experience with café POS systems, specifically Toast
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one
- Experience opening or working in a new café
- Strong milk steaming and latte art skills
- A natural eye for cleanliness, presentation and organization
- A calm, positive presence during busy service
- Strong hospitality instincts and an ability to anticipate what needs to happen next
THE BISCUIT BAR EXPERIENCE
Biscuit Bar is a small-format café, dog treatery and retail experience located just off Town Square in Jackson Hole.
Guests will come in for coffee and pastries, shop curated retail, order treats for their dogs, take photos at our photobooth and spend time in the space.
We are looking for someone who understands that the experience matters just as much as the product.
The right person will care about making a great latte, but will also notice when a table needs attention, a guest needs help, the retail area needs tidying or the bar needs to be restocked.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
Part-Time or Full-Time
$25–$35/hour DOE + tips
Hours will primarily fall within our café operating hours, approximately 8 AM–4 PM daily, with some early morning shifts required for opening and bar preparation. Weekend availability preferred.
Training is mandatory on September 10 & 11. This date is non-negotiable for all candidates selected for the role.
