Who We Are
Hotel Jackson is a boutique luxury hotel on the Town Square in Jackson, Wyoming. We are independently owned, personally operated, and deeply invested in this place. Hospitality here isn’t transactional — it’s an act of genuine connection. We believe in warmth, authenticity, expertise, and the kind of care that makes guests feel truly at home.
Our mission is simple: We are here to host. That means anticipating needs, elevating every detail, and delivering impactful memorable moments.
The Role
We’re hiring a Bellman to be a warm, capable, and knowledgeable presence throughout the guest’s entire stay. You’ll handle luggage, escort guests to their rooms, support arrivals and departures, assist with transportation and deliveries, and be the kind of person guests feel comfortable turning to for anything.
The best Bellmen at Hotel Jackson aren’t just efficient — they’re genuinely hospitable. They learn guest names. They remember preferences. They notice when someone needs help before being asked. If you take pride in that kind of attention and want to be a meaningful part of someone’s stay in Jackson Hole, this is the role for you.
What You’ll Own
Arrivals and Departures
- The welcome: greet every arriving guest with warmth and genuine attention — make them feel expected and at ease the moment they walk through the door.
- Luggage handling: assist guests with luggage on arrival and departure with care and efficiency; tag and track all baggage movements accurately.
- Room escort and orientation: escort guests to their accommodations and walk them through room features, hotel facilities, and amenities so they feel confident and comfortable from the start.
- The farewell: acknowledge departing guests with the same warmth as the welcome; ensure bills are settled and room keys returned before departure.
Guest Support Throughout the Stay
- VIP and returning guest recognition: know the arrival list, flag VIPs and guests with special needs, and personalize every interaction for guests you’ve seen before.
- Requests and deliveries: handle all guest requests promptly and follow up to confirm satisfaction; make deliveries to guest rooms accurately and without delay.
- Luggage storage: manage luggage storage and retrieval with precision; complete all required tracking forms and ensure guests understand storage policies.
- Messages and parcels: distribute guest messages, letters, and couriers accurately and without delay.
- Loan items: track all items on loan and ensure collection at or before checkout.
- Transportation: coordinate and assist with hotel shuttle service and airport transfers, ensuring each trip is handled smoothly and on time.
Property and Standards
- Lobby and bell area: keep the lobby, bell closet, and all work areas clean, organized, and presentable at all times — the physical environment is part of the guest experience.
- Daily awareness: review the daily arrival list each shift, stay current on hotel activities and group movements, and communicate anything relevant to the Guest Experience Manager or Manager on Duty.
- Safety and security: assist with luggage screening, observe hotel security protocols, and report unattended items or unfamiliar individuals to management immediately.
- Newspaper service: coordinate next-day newspaper orders and ensure delivery to occupied guest rooms.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a hotel, luxury hospitality, or guest-facing service role strongly preferred.
- Warm, polished, and genuinely comfortable engaging with a wide range of guests — from first-time visitors to longtime regulars.
- Strong attention to detail: luggage tracking, request follow-up, and daily arrival awareness require accuracy and consistency.
- Physically capable of standing for full shifts and regularly transporting luggage and guest belongings.
- Reliable and proactive — you anticipate what’s needed and act before being asked.
- Clear communicator with the front desk, management, and fellow team members.
- Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the operation.
- Valid driver’s license preferred for transportation and shuttle assistance.
Who Thrives Here
This role is a fit for someone who finds genuine satisfaction in making people feel welcome — not as a performance, but as a natural expression of who they are. Jackson Hole is extraordinary, and the guests who visit here are often having one of the best trips of their lives. Being part of that, even in small moments, is what this role is about.
You’ll thrive if you:
- Genuinely enjoy meeting people and remember the details that make interactions personal.
- Take ownership of your section of the guest experience — arrivals, departures, luggage, and everything in between — without being prompted.
- Keep the lobby and bell area sharp because you take pride in the environment, not because someone asked you to.
- Stay alert and communicate proactively — the front desk and management should never be surprised by something you already knew.
This may not be the right fit if you:
- Prefer a role with minimal guest interaction or a predictable, task-only workflow.
- Are not comfortable with physical demands or variable shift schedules including early mornings and weekends.
- Struggle to stay organized and precise when managing multiple requests across an active lobby.
Compensation & Benefits
We know Jackson is one of the most expensive places to live in the country. We’ve built this package to make it work.
- Competitive hourly rate + gratuities
- Medical benefits (full-time/year-round eligible)
- Subsidized ski pass + select local perks
- Employee discounts at the, restaurant/bar, and retail outlets
