Ophthalmologist – VA Disability Evaluations

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,400.00 per day
Job Type: Part-Time | Contract
Location: Jackson, Mississippi
Setting: Provider MUST have an established clinic/office in Mississippi. No clinic space is provided.

Help Serve Those Who Served

Frontera Search is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Ophthalmologist to perform comprehensive eye disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans. This is an examination-only position designed for physicians looking to supplement their existing practice with a flexible, predictable schedule.

There is no treatment, surgery, prescribing, or ongoing patient care. Your role is to conduct objective clinical examinations, document your findings, and complete standardized VA disability reports.

Position Details

Part-Time Contract
Approximately 3 weekdays per week
Provider performs exams in their own established Mississippi clinic
Up to 5 Veterans evaluated per day
Flexible weekday scheduling
Electronic documentation system provided
Start date based upon credentialing completion

What You'll Do

Perform comprehensive ophthalmologic disability examinations
Evaluate ocular health and visual function
Document objective findings using the provided EMR
Complete disability reports accurately and efficiently
Follow VA examination protocols and documentation standards
Provide a professional, respectful experience for every Veteran

Qualifications

Required

MD or DO
Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency
Active Mississippi medical license
Established clinic or office in Mississippi available for Veteran examinations

Preferred

Board Certified
Previous VA or Independent Medical Examination (IME) experience
EMR experience
