Full Job Description

Hospitalist Program Director — Level II Trauma Center, Gulf South Region

An established Level II Trauma Center with 500+ beds is looking for a Hospitalist Program Director to take the reins of a 35-40 provider inpatient medicine team. This is a full P&L, full-authority operational leadership seat, not a clinical role.

You'll manage everything that keeps the hospitalist program running: staffing, scheduling, budget, compliance, and the working relationship between providers and hospital administration.

You'll be responsible for:

Full operational leadership of a 35-40 provider hospitalist and APP team
Designing shift schedules that maintain 24/7/365 coverage
Reviewing and validating provider shifts, differentials, and productivity for payroll
Overseeing credentialing, licensing, and compliance program-wide
Acting as the go-to contact between the provider group and hospital C-suite
Drive hospital throughput by managing length of stay, discharge timing, and daily rounding efficiency in partnership with case management

What we're looking for:

Bachelor's degree minimum, MHA or MBA preferred
3+ years leading hospital medicine or inpatient physician practice operations
Comfort with EHR and HRIS platforms
Track record managing provider onboarding, reviews, and team development
Demonstrated success improving hospital throughput, length of stay, and discharge efficiency in a prior hospitalist or inpatient operations role

Compensation: Up to $140,000 base (dependent on experience) + full benefits + up to $15,000 relocation assistance.

Ideally located for candidates currently based in New Orleans, Mobile, Jackson, or Biloxi who want to be centrally located in the Gulf South while enjoying a lower cost of living.
