Duval Dreamscapes LLC is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Landscape Sales & Estimating Representative to help grow our residential, HOA, property management, and commercial landscaping business throughout Northeast Florida.
We are looking for someone who already has hands-on knowledge of landscaping and is comfortable meeting with customers, walking properties, identifying landscape needs, taking accurate measurements and photos, and helping turn opportunities into sold projects.
This is a commission-based position with earning potential based on successfully sold work. Additional earning opportunities are available for bringing new customers and accounts to the company.
You do not need to independently price every project when starting. The owner will prepare or approve final pricing while you learn our estimating process.
Responsibilities
- Meet with homeowners, property managers, HOA representatives, and commercial customers
- Walk properties and discuss the customer's landscaping needs and goals
- Recommend appropriate landscape solutions based on your experience
- Take accurate measurements, photos, videos, and detailed site notes
- Determine approximate quantities of sod, plants, mulch, rock, and other landscape materials needed
- Identify potential irrigation, drainage, cleanup, maintenance, or installation needs
- Communicate job details clearly and promptly with the owner so accurate estimates can be prepared
- Present and discuss proposals with customers when appropriate
- Follow up consistently on outstanding estimates and prospective customers
- Help convert company-provided leads into sold projects
- Generate new residential, HOA, property management, builder, and commercial opportunities
- Build relationships with property managers, HOAs, builders, businesses, and homeowners
- Look for additional sales opportunities at existing customer properties
- Maintain organized records of leads, site visits, estimates, and customer follow-ups
- Maintain professional and responsive communication with both customers and the owner
QualificationsRequired
- Previous experience in landscaping, lawn care, landscape installation, irrigation, nursery operations, landscape sales, estimating, or a related field
- Working knowledge of common landscape plants and materials
- Understanding of sod, mulch, rock, trees, shrubs, landscape beds, and basic irrigation concepts
- Ability to accurately measure landscape areas and estimate basic material quantities
- Ability to recognize common landscape issues and discuss possible solutions with customers
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Professional, dependable, organized, and responsive
- Comfortable following up with customers and asking for the sale
- Ability to work independently and manage appointments
- Reliable transportation
- Smartphone capable of taking clear photos and videos
Preferred
- Previous landscape sales or estimating experience
- Knowledge of Northeast Florida plants, turf, and growing conditions
- Experience working with HOAs, property managers, builders, or commercial properties
- Experience generating your own leads or developing new accounts
- Existing relationships within the Northeast Florida property management, HOA, construction, or landscaping industries
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems
- Ability to read landscape plans or construction drawings is a plus, but not required
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Compensation
This is a commission-based sales position, not an hourly field-labor position.
Compensation is based on successfully sold work, with opportunities for higher earnings when you generate your own customers or accounts.
Specific commission percentages and payment terms will be discussed during the interview.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who understands landscaping but also enjoys the customer and sales side of the business.
The ideal candidate can walk onto a property, understand what the customer is trying to accomplish, recognize what needs to be done, gather accurate information, and communicate that information clearly so we can build a profitable project.
You do not need to know Duval Dreamscapes' pricing system on day one. Final estimates and pricing will initially be prepared or approved by the owner.
As you demonstrate your knowledge, accuracy, and understanding of our pricing, there will be opportunities to take on greater estimating and account-management responsibilities.
