Full Job Description

Blueberry Bakery is seeking a passionate and skilled **Full-Time Pastry Chef** to join our team in Jacksonville! As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality baked goods, delicious pastries, and custom creations that keep our customers coming back for more. If you thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and take pride in precision and creativity, we would love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

Baking & Decoration: Prepare, bake, and decorate a wide variety of pastries, cakes, pies, breads, and other sweet goods following bakery standards and recipes.
Recipe Development: Help refine and maintain consistent recipes and presentation standards.
Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workspace in compliance with health and safety standards.
Inventory Control: Monitor ingredients, track inventory levels, and notify management when supplies need reordering.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all finished products meet our standards for flavor, texture, and visual presentation before reaching customers.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Standing: Ability to stand and walk on your feet for extended periods (8+ hours per shift) in a fastpaced bakery environment.
Lifting: Must be able to regularly lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 pounds (e.g., bulk bags of flour/sugar, heavy dough containers, and baking sheets).
Manual Dexterity: Strong handeye coordination for delicate decorating and repetitive tasks.
Work Environment: Comfortable working around hot ovens, commercial mixers, and standard baking equipment.

Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or relevant role in a commercial kitchen setup.
Deep knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and ingredient interactions.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a kitchen team.
Food safety certification (ServSafe or local equivalent) preferred.

Pay & Benefits

Pay Range: $18.00 $20.00 per hour
