Full Job Description

At FirstLight Home Care, we provide both companion care and personal care to support our clients in the comfort of their own homes. Our mission is to deliver compassionate, dependable home care that gives families peace of mind—knowing their loved ones are receiving the assistance they need to live safely, independently, and with the quality of life they deserve.

Job Summary: The RN Supervisor is responsible for conducting initial client assessments, developing comprehensive Service and Care Plans, and performing regular supervisory visits in clients’ homes. In addition to overseeing all aspects of client care and caregiver management, this role also includes conducting skills assessments for new caregiver orientees to ensure competency and readiness for client assignments. Registered Nurse Supervisor responsibilities include:

Oversees client services and ensures client needs are met
Responsible for annual evaluations, competencies, state regulations, and accreditation compliance
Provides and coordinates services in accordance with the Service Plan/Care Plan
Makes the initial evaluation visit and regularly reevaluates the client’s needs.
Initiates the Service Plan/Care Plan and necessary revisions.
Provides documentation of client assessments, Care Plan, supervisory visits, caregiver and client education, and training.
Informs personnel of changes in the condition and needs of the client.
Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures.
Observes, records, and documents signs and symptoms and reports to the, administrator, treatments, including changes in the Client's physical or emotional condition. Also manage limited skilled nursing services, when applicable.
Communicates and counsels the client and family/significant others regarding their service needs and other related problems of the client at home.
Participates in the quality assurance reviews and evaluations of the agency’s services
Supervises caregivers
Assists the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
Assists with other activities, as assigned.

The ideal candidate:

Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing and currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in-home care experience is required.
Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and or Google Suite and scheduling software required
Must possess and demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills as well as a positive and professional image
Maintain current state Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Must maintain current driver’s license and auto insurance
Ability to read and understand short instructions, correspondence, and memos
Ability to effectively communicate through written and verbal language
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Demonstrated ability in or application of organizational/communication skills
Ability to evaluate situations and make complex decisions using critical thinking and reasoning.
Ability to deal effectively with high levels of stress.
