Estimator / Project Manager (Commercial & Residential Construction)

Location: Jacksonville, FL
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Salary: $70,000 - $100,000+ (Based on Experience - Flexibility for the Right Candidate)

This position will oversee both commercial and residential construction projects throughout Jacksonville and Clay County.

Who We're Looking For

This is NOT an entry-level estimating position.

We are looking for a true Estimator / Project Manager who has personally developed and submitted complete construction bids from start to finish. You must have been the individual responsible for putting the bids together—not simply someone who assisted with estimating or participated as part of the project team.

The ideal candidate understands every aspect of the estimating process, including quantity takeoffs, labor and material pricing, subcontractor negotiations, budgeting, cost analysis, and preparing competitive proposals that win work.

We're seeking someone who also brings:

Experience estimating and managing both commercial and residential construction projects
A solid understanding of construction costs, budgeting, purchasing, scheduling, and project management
A proven ability to prepare accurate, competitive bids from concept through submission
A strong network and established relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors (experience with both is highly preferred)
A desire to continue growing professionally and help grow the business
A self-driven, motivated, and results-oriented work ethic
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong organizational abilities with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Key Responsibilities

Prepare complete and accurate construction estimates and competitive bid packages
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications
Analyze project costs including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
Develop and submit winning proposals while maintaining profitability
Manage awarded projects from pre-construction through closeout
Coordinate with clients, architects, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel
Negotiate subcontractor pricing and supplier costs
Monitor project budgets, schedules, change orders, and overall profitability
Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients
Identify opportunities for new business and contribute to the company's continued growth
Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
Maintain exceptional customer service throughout every phase of each project

Preferred Qualifications

Several years of Estimating and Project Management experience within the construction industry
Experience with both commercial and residential construction projects
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and construction documents
Strong knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office
Experience using Trello
Excellent understanding of construction scheduling, purchasing, and cost control
Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
Proven track record of building lasting client and subcontractor relationships - MUST HAVE EXISTING RELATIONSHIPS
