Full Job Description

Job Summary
The Estimator and Procurement Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, sourcing materials, and supporting the operational workflow through effective procurement and vendor coordination. this role ensures that all bids, quotes, and purchasing activities are completed in a timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner. The position directly contributes to increasing project volume, improving margins, and supporting field technicians with the resources needed for successful job execution.

Duties

Review project scopes, drawings, site documentation, and customer requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates
Develop detailed proposals including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and travel
Utilize bid platforms and industry resources to identify new cabling and low-voltage project opportunities
Ensure all estimates align with company pricing standards, margin expectations, and operational capabilities
Maintain organized records estimates, revisions, and submitted proposals
Source materials, equipment, and specialty items at competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards
Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate with vendors to resolve delays or discrepancies
Maintain relationships with suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers to support ongoing procurement needs
Assist with inventory management, including evaluating over-purchased materials and identifying opportunities for reuse or return
Support standardization of materials and procurement processes across all locations
Collaborate with project facilitators technicians, and operations leadership to ensure accurate job costing and material readiness
Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), material lists, and procurement documentation for upcoming projects
Assist in developing and maintaining standardized templates for estimating and procurement workflows
Support efforts to increase local job density and reduce technician travel by identifying regional project opportunities
Research and pursue new cabling and low-voltage opportunities through online bid portals and industry networks
Assist in expanding the company's presence within targeted geographic regions
Track bid outcomes and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities
Other duties may be assigned as dictated by the needs of the business

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. Cabling or IT management experience preferred
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Experience

Required:

RCDD
Experience in estimating, procurement, project coordination, or related fields (low-voltage, cabling, IT, or construction preferred)
Strong understanding of labor costing, material sourcing, and vendor negotiation
Ability to read and interpret floor plans, site drawings, and technical documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with estimating tools or bid platforms
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

Experience in low-voltage systems, cabling, camera systems, or IT infrastructure
Prior experience supporting field technicians or operations teams
Familiarity with March networks or similar technology platforms
Ability to identify new business opportunities and support sales/marketing initiatives
