Full Job Description

Responsible for helping to facilitate residents through their daily programming schedule in a residential drug treatment program or transitional housing. Be a mentor to assist them with growth, while maintaining boundaries. Initiate recreational activities to enhance the spiritual, physical and emotional growth and development of residents in a cognitive behavioral therapeutic community.

Supervision:

Be accountable for client’s whereabouts at all times (conduct and document regular head counts)

Keep residents informed of all policies, procedures, and current events (Conduct regular informational meetings)

Ensure a safe, healthy, clean and supportive environment, emphasizing the participation of residents in the process.

Refer residents to appropriate staff personnel for counseling and/or disciplinary actions as needed.

Enforce lights out and/or wake up calls at designed times.

Transport residents in City Rescue Mission vehicle.

Inspection/Search:

Conducts contraband searches on all residents prior to them entering the living quarters.

Inspect and monitor all rooms. Ensure rooms are decent and in order according to prescribed methods.

Escort students to and from the dining room and other events as needed.

Ensure attendance of all residents at mandatory activities and events (groups, classes, support meetings, meals, tasks, etc.)

Routinely walk the NLI perimeter to ensure all building safety processes and procedures are being followed.

Admin/Housekeeping:

Participates is a systematic quality assurance program that is applied to evaluate client care and program services.

Maintain and update records as instructed.

Keep supply cabinet and other storage units organized and distribute linens and other supplies as needed.

Store medications, first aid, etc. as required.

Monitor the proper use and maintenance of equipment and furniture by residents.

Substance Abuse Compliance/Medication:

Conduct regular random drug and alcohol testing of residents which meets DOC and court protocol. * Please note testing is observed directly by Resident Assistant *

Supervises self-administered medications with documentation as directed. Maintain medication log. **Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma or its equivalent

2. Minimum 1 year of experience in comparable role preferred.

3. Knowledge of substance abuse related issues and the recovery process.

4. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and guidelines.

5. Must be able to perform weekend and evening shifts as assigned.

6. Valid Florida Driver’s License

Understands Christian principles, exemplifies them, and shares with other staff and persons served.

Maintains an exemplary Christian lifestyle, affirms the CRM Statement of Faith, Code of Ethics and Position Statements.

Enjoys people and can work with diverse populations.

Can work in harmony with other staff.

Ensures strict confidentiality is maintained.

Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk moderate distances, sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, type; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; see and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Work Environment: Constant office environment.

Schedule:

24-7 operation. Saturday and Sunday Part-time and PRN schedules available. 8-hour shifts starting at 3pm and 11pm. Fixed schedule assigned.
