Now hiring Dietary Aides at Family of Caring at Ridgewood

FOC Ridgewood is dedicated to the top-quality care of our patients and commitment to our staff. We are seeking a Dietary Aides to join our already AMAZING team

We are looking for Aides for our 3p-7p Shift!

Would you like to make a difference every day in someone’s life? The Dietary Aide will join will provide accurate, timely food service to meet residents needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements under the supervision of the Dietary Manager and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Sets up tray line for meals, handling and serving food in accordance with sanitary regulations with all items ready on time.
Prepares juice and special items for meals as specified by production chart and serves these on the resident’s tray.
Sets up steam tables with all food items and assists with preparing trays.
Follows menu and production schedule following standardized recipes in preparation of meals for residents.
Follows standards for portion control as outlined by modified menus.
Assists in cleaning dishes, glassware and silverware using dish machine, pre-soaking dishes and silverware as needed, scraping dishes and disposing of waste.
Checks wash and rinse temperatures to see that they are at proper temperatures.
Puts clean and air-dried ware in proper places.
Cleaning responsibilities as assigned.
Observes standard procedures for safe and sanitary food handling.
Adhere to the personnel policies and procedures of this facility and of the Dietary Department.
Hairnet must be worn while in the kitchen. Hair must be completely covered with net.
Complete uniform, including name tag must be worn.
Attend scheduled in-service programs.
Other related duties assigned by Dietary Manager/Dietary Director.

Qualifications & Requirements

High School diploma/GED
Proven experience as a dietary aide is preferred.
Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines- serve safe certified a plus.
Must be able to understand and follow written, oral instructions speak and read English to communicate effectively with others.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in the kitchen and other food service units. Atmosphere is usually warm, moist and odorous from cooking foods. Possible hazards include cuts from utensils, burns from hot equipment, and exposure to sudden changes in temperature when entering the refrigerator.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
