The College of Integrated Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County seeks a Lecturer of English, or adjunct instructors, for courses in the fall 2026 semester.
This will be a fixed-term appointment. NOTE: The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term. UW-Whitewater is not an e-verify employer, therefore STEM extensions are not options for work authorization. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon the needs of the University, funding, staffing requirements, enrollment, and external forces. Courses that are to be taught throughout the academic year will be from the following:
Fall Semester:
- ENG 102 – Critical Writing, Reading, and Research (two sections)
- ENG 100 - Intensive College Writing and Reading (one section)
- The possibility of teaching up to three LEC 100 - First-year Seminar courses that are one credit each
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in English
- A Master's Degree in a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in English
- A Master's Degree in a related field and strong evidence of teaching English
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience teaching developmental and lower-division college English or co-requisite support courses.
- Experience using learning management software to deliver courses. UW-Whitewater uses Canvas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Willingness and Ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training drills
- Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds

For each three credits taught, the pay will be $5,000.
