Position Snapshot
- Part time, in person, at our Milton club
- Flexible scheduling built around club needs, member demand, and your recurring availability
- $12/hour for scheduled club-support hours
- $17/hour for coaching sessions you deliver
- Independently owned and operated
Learn to coach people, not just workouts.
Most people can learn a squat pattern. Far fewer learn how to talk to someone who has not exercised in eleven years and is genuinely afraid of looking foolish in front of a mirror.
That second skill is the job. It is also the skill that builds a career.
If you are studying exercise science, kinesiology, psychology, communications, or business, or if you are simply trying to find out whether coaching could be your future, this role gives you real responsibility with real people, starting early.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Our club is independently owned, which means you will not be tucked into one narrow function. The PT Sales is handled by our club manager so you can focus on coaching. Over time you can gain exposure to how a fitness business actually operates:
- Coaching individuals and small groups
- Fitness consultations and goal-setting conversations
- Member relationships and retention
- New member onboarding and tours
- Club operations, standards, and safety
- Building your own coaching client base
Coach and support members
Help members clarify goals. Support and eventually lead fitness consultations. Coach personal training or small-group sessions as assigned and as your qualifications allow. Teach technique clearly. Encourage consistency, provide accountability, and celebrate progress that others might overlook.
Support an excellent member experience
Welcome members and guests, give tours, assist with onboarding, and answer questions. Help people feel recognized instead of anonymous.
Help operate a great club
Keep the club clean, organized, and safe. Complete administrative follow-up. Support local promotions. A clean, well-run gym tells members they matter, and coaches who understand that tend to become the ones members trust.
What You Can Learn Here
- Coaching communication and exercise instruction
- Consultation and goal-setting conversations
- Behavior change and accountability
- Client retention and member onboarding
- Leadership presence and public speaking
- Time management and personal accountability
- Gym operations and fitness business fundamentals
These skills transfer into personal training, strength and conditioning, physical therapy, healthcare, management, and entrepreneurship. You will develop them through effort and repetition, not by observing.
Who Will Thrive Here
- You are willing to start conversations and can help unfamiliar people feel comfortable
- When you accept a shift or an appointment, people can count on you to be prepared and on time
- You are curious about why some people stay consistent and others struggle
- You can take direct feedback without becoming defensive
- You notice what needs to be done and handle it without reminders
- You are open to learning follow-up and consultation skills
- You want responsibility rather than observation
- You can hold confidence and humility at the same time
This May Not Be the Right Fit If
- You mainly want gym access
- You only want to train advanced athletes
- You would rather avoid conversations, follow-up, or consultations
- You view cleaning and club upkeep as beneath a coach
- You expect a full client schedule on day one
- Your availability changes week to week without notice
- You need regular reminders to complete ordinary responsibilities
No hard feelings. We would rather be clear now than have either of us be disappointed later.
Schedule
This is a flexible part-time opportunity, not a position with a predetermined weekly schedule. Hours are developed around club needs, member demand, coaching opportunities, and your reliable recurring availability.
We understand classes and academic responsibilities matter, and we may be able to build hours around an established class schedule. Our members also need consistency. Once you commit to a shift, consultation, or client appointment, we expect you to protect that commitment.
Consistent, recurring availability works far better than a different schedule every week. Early morning, evening, and weekend availability often creates more opportunity, because that is when many members are able to train. Submitting availability does not guarantee that all of those hours will be scheduled.
This position is performed in person in Milton.
