Vehicle Electronics Installer / Telematics Technician — GPS, Cameras & 12V Wiring
$1,800/week Starting | 1099 Independent Contractor | Nationwide Travel

We’re looking for skilled Vehicle Electronics Installers, Telematics Technicians, GPS Installers, Dash Camera Installers, Mobile Electronics Installers, 12-Volt Technicians, Automotive Electrical Technicians, and Fleet Camera Installers who are ready to travel, hustle, and wire up some of the largest commercial fleets in the country.
If you have experience with 12V wiring, automotive electrical systems, GPS tracking equipment, dash cams, fleet safety hardware, telematics systems, car audio, mobile electronics, remote starts, alarms, aftermarket accessories, low-voltage wiring, or vehicle upfitting, and you are ready to travel, have your own tools, and have a reliable vehicle, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing GPS systems, dash cams, telematics devices, fleet camera systems, and other fleet safety hardware
- Installing and wiring 12-volt vehicle electronics on commercial vehicles, trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment
- Traveling to various job sites nationwide — 100% nationwide travel required
- Troubleshooting 12-volt wiring, power, ground, ignition, hardware, and connectivity issues
- Performing clean, professional wiring, mounting, routing, and equipment installation
- Delivering professional and efficient installation services in a customer-facing environment
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of 12-volt systems, automotive electrical, vehicle wiring, or low-voltage wiring. Professional, hobbyist, or self-taught experience will be considered.
- Experience as a 12V technician, GPS installer, dash cam installer, fleet installer, car audio installer, alarm/remote start installer, mobile electronics installer, automotive electrical technician, or vehicle upfitter is a plus.
- Own essential 12V tools, including drill, multimeter, crimpers, wire strippers, hand tools, and related installation tools.
- Reliable vehicle to travel between job sites.
- Willingness to work away from home for days, weeks, or months at a time without home time.
- Must be able to work in extreme work environments, including heat, cold, dirt, grease, outdoor conditions, and active job sites.
- Must have a smartphone.
- Clean, professional attitude — this is a customer-facing role.
Compensation & Work Schedule
- $1,800 per week starting
- 1099 Independent Contractor position
- No per diem — rate reflects this.
- Schedule is full-time; expect weekday and occasional weekend work.
- Long-term work opportunities available for consistent performers.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with telematics systems such as Samsara, Lytx, Mobileye, PeopleNet, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Motive, Netradyne, or similar fleet technology.
- Background in fleet installations, dealership work, vehicle upfitting, aftermarket vehicle accessories, car audio, alarms, remote starts, or automotive electrical.
- Prior experience in travel-based installation work.
- Experience working on commercial vehicles, box trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, vans, or fleet vehicles.
