Full Job Description

Fiddlehead Brewing Company is seeking a talented and motivated culinary professional responsible for developing and executing our company’s initiative to provide healthy and quality meals to our employees and guests. The corporate chef will be responsible for cooking for 60-65 employees per day, providing lunch Monday through Thursday/Friday and perhaps occasional grab and go breakfast or snack options as needed, in addition to occasional event meal planning.

Duties:

● Plan, prepare and serve lunch daily

● Generate weekly menus

● Work on fine-tuning recipes or creating new ones to meet high-quality standards

● Estimate food requirements and costs, planning within budget

● Purchase and appropriately store food

● Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs and maintain kitchen in good working order

● Troubleshoot arising problems or complaints

● Communicate with staff about available offerings and answer questions as needed regarding ingredients

● Gather and review menu suggestions/dietary requirements from staff to meet diverse needs

● Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

● Work with the leadership team and events staff to plan and coordinate food offerings for special events which may involve food preparation and/or coordination with external vendors.

● Plan for and appropriately package meals to assure freshness for both shifts

● Develop and implement back-up/alternative plans for planned absences and vacation coverage.

● Ability to manage time effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

● Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality.

● Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude and customer service mindset

● Reliable, accountable, and able to work independently as a sole chef

● Responsible fiscal planning in an order to work within budget

● Open to and able to apply feedback and constructive criticism without defensiveness

Qualifications:

● High school diploma or GED required

● Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in culinary arts is preferred.

● 3+ years of proven culinary experience in restaurant, as a personal/private chef or in a corporate dining setting

● Sound knowledge of different cuisines as well as food health and safety regulations.

● A strong understanding of nutrition

● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

● Must be 21+ years of age

Schedule:

· 30-40 hrs per week during day time hours with some flexibility in scheduling
