SUMMARY
The Assistant Ski & Snowboard Instructor role partners with a Ski & Snowboard Instructor to provide instruction to
guests in various formats (group, 1-on-1) and terrains. The Assistant Ski & Snowboard instructor also participates in
teambuilding and skill building exercises.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
Assist Ski & Snowboard Instructor in providing friendly and welcoming service to guests of all ages and skill levels
Support Ski & Snowboard Instructor in delivering high-quality, professional instruction to guests
Follow Ski & Snowboard Instructor example for maintaining the safety and learning of students in lessons
Actively utilize WhenToWork scheduling app to stay aware of schedule and maintain good attendance
Be aware of and follow all resort and department policies/procedures
Ability to work outdoors in the winter mountain environment
Active participation in trainings throughout the season (ongoing, in-house, PSIA/AASI)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

You must have your own ski/ride equipment including helmet (which we can help with) and complete on-snow and offsnow
training at the start of the season. Instructors must be energetic, passionate, hardworking, support the mission of
the resort and follow the company’s policies and procedures.
PSIA Certification is welcome but not required. Be sure to inform the hiring team of any current certifications you hold.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
No prior experience or training necessary.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read & comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, & memos. Ability to write simple
correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one & small group situations to customers, clients
and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these
operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must be able to regularly and effectively communicate through email and other electronic communication in addition to
online scheduling programs.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must be able to communicate effectively to other individuals and small groups of people (especially children) in a
professional, friendly manner. Must be comfortable initiating conversations with guests and other employees. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills are an essential part of this position. Must be able to interact cooperatively with
all other departments.

and/or move 100 pounds in the form of assisting students in snow, with the help of a Ski & Snowboard Instructor.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and
occasionally working near moving mechanical parts and working in high or precarious places.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
RESORT CONDITIONS
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multilevel
buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are
located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis
or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out.
Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
