Full Job Description

This CNC Machine Operator Trainee role offers a comprehensive training program focused on the maintenance and operation of CNC machining centers. You will collaborate with seasoned supervisors and operators to gain proficiency in machine setup, operational tasks, quality inspections, and fundamental troubleshooting techniques.

Core Duties:

Manage the setup and operation of automated horizontal and vertical CNC equipment.
Precisely determine and identify X, Y, and Z axes on various machining centers.
Conduct routine machine inspections to help maintain a reliable and safe production environment for the team.
Contribute to departmental success by meeting targets related to scrap reduction, efficiency, and setup times.
Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and setup documentation to ensure production accuracy.
Utilize precision tools like micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to verify that parts meet exact design specifications.
Swap out worn cutting tools while strictly adhering to established safety guidelines.
Install and secure fixtures, attachments, and workpieces using precision instruments and hand tools to ensure high-quality output.
Monitor machine performance by listening for irregularities to help prevent equipment damage and ensure consistent quality.
Modify speed, feed, and control settings to correct programming errors or mechanical issues.
Pause machine cycles to swap workpieces or adjust tooling sequences as dictated by the production plan.
Position workpieces onto machines using manual lifting techniques or mechanical hoists and cranes.
Input operational commands into machine control interfaces to initiate production cycles.
Regulate and oversee coolant system performance throughout the machining process.
Transmit production commands from central servers to CNC modules via network connections.
Maximize productivity by preparing upcoming jobs, cleaning the workspace, or performing inspections during active machine cycles.
Perform deburring on parts as necessary to support the flow of work-in-progress.
Maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by following all safety protocols and utilizing required PPE.
Demonstrate clear verbal communication skills in English while following complex written and verbal instructions.
Maintain consistent and reliable on-site attendance to ensure operational continuity.

Qualifications:

Completion of a High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
Minimum of one year of professional experience within a manufacturing setting.
Demonstrated ability to use precision measurement tools such as height gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
Strong preference for candidates who can interpret technical sketches, shop blueprints, and related instructions.
Experience operating heavy material handling equipment, including forklifts and cranes, is considered a plus.
