Full Job Description

Line Chef -Full Time
Shifts: 6am-2pm / 10:30am-6:45pm

JOB SUMMARY: The Line Chef will be responsible for preparation and service of meals and snacks for 48-residents in an assisted living community. Chefs will prepare meals in accordance with community policy and procedures and under the direction of the Head Chef which includes collecting supplies/ingredients, preparing food items, cooking food items in appropriate equipment and appropriate temperatures, storing prepared items in an appropriate manner and follow all sanitation standards.

JOB DUTIES:

Make proper accommodations for residents with special allergies and dietary needs.
Follow orders, standard, and regulations when preparing and serving meals.
Clean as necessary ensuring all workspace, cooking equipment, and utensils are clean.
Use appropriate tools when preparing/servicing foods.
Record temperatures when required and maintain logs.
Properly label, cover, store food per policy.
Bus and reset tables in dining room as needed.
Wash dishes and prepare the kitchen for the next shift when applicable.
Assist the Head Chef with ordering, inventory, and stocking as needed.
Ensure kitchen equipment is clean/functional and work with management team to coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
Follow all proper diet orders for meals/snacks and offer substitutions to accommodate resident allergies, likes/dislikes, habits, customs, or traditions.
Provide excellent customer service to residents, visitor, and guests to create an exceptional dining experience.
Scheduling
Responds promptly to resident requests and engages appropriate staff person if unable to fulfill resident needs/requests.
Adheres to The Landing Senior Living Employee Handbook, the Employee Code of Conduct & all policy and procedures set forth by the company.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES and JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to communicate with residents and kitchen team respectfully and effectively.
Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends or holidays as needed.
Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
Must attend/complete orientation, staff meetings, in-service and required training.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team to achieve a common goal.
TB skin test, drug screen, COVID-19 testing and criminal background check required.
