Legal Assistant

Vindex Law, PC | Jefferson City, MO

Vindex Law, PC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented, high-energy Legal Secretary to join our team in Jefferson City

Requirements:

Education: A conferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in the legal industry.
Ability to Successfully Pass a background Check.
Preferred Qualification: Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program.
Proven Experience: A solid background as a legal secretary or assistant with specific experience in Missouri state and federal courts.
Tech Savvy: Proficient with CaseNet and PACER.
Bonus Points: Experience with Clio Manage is highly preferred.
Precision: An eagle eye for typos and a knack for following complex court rules.
Communication: A clear, professional communicator who can handle client interactions with poise.

The Work We Do:
Our firm handles a high volume of complex, high-stakes litigation:

Constitutional Law: We protect fundamental rights, including voting access, free speech, gun ownership, and property rights, while challenging government overreach.
Civil Rights: We pursue justice under the Missouri Human Rights Act (MHRA) and through Section 1983 and Bivens claims to hold government officials accountable for rights violations.
Criminal Defense: We provide aggressive defense for serious charges, including drug offenses, assault, and federal crimes, in both state and federal courts.

What You’ll Do:

Court Filings: Handle electronic filings across Missouri CaseNet and federal PACER/ECF systems with total accuracy.
Document Management: Draft, proofread, and format legal pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
Calendar & Deadlines: Manage court deadlines, hearing dates, and attorney schedules to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
Case Support: Maintain organized digital files and assist with administrative tasks as needed to keep cases moving forward.
