PSRS/PEERS is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and forward-thinking Business Systems Analyst II to join our Information Technology Team. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will take on greater responsibility and influence, ensuring that internal systems operate accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational goals. You will provide expert guidance on projects, support strategic initiatives, and serve as a resource and mentor to Business Systems Analyst I team members.
Salary: $86,932 - $102,146 annually.
Pay within advertised range is commensurate with education and experience.

Your Role at a Glance
As a Business Systems Analyst II, you will function at an intermediate to advanced level of business analysis, supporting the full lifecycle of system implementation, enhancement, and maintenance. Working under moderate supervision, you will serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring clear communication, accurate translation of business needs, and the delivery of practical and effective system solutions.
Your responsibilities will include gathering and defining business requirements, configuring and implementing new systems and enhancements, developing and executing comprehensive test plans, and resolving complex system issues with accuracy and efficiency. You will develop training materials and deliver end-user training to ensure successful adoption of new or updated system functionality.
In addition to supporting daily system needs, you will provide guidance to Business Systems Analyst I team members and serve as a project lead on initiatives of moderate complexity. You will communicate project requirements, challenges, and progress to the Project Management team and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment with scope and expectations. You will contribute to PSRS/PEERS’ digital transformation efforts by analyzing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and recommending technology-driven solutions that increase efficiency and support long-term organizational success. Additional responsibilities include coordinating annual business processes such as benefit statements, 1099-R tax forms, interest posting, and updates required by regulatory or legislative changes.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate is an experienced and highly analytical professional with both the technical competence and leadership presence required to support complex system initiatives. This individual brings intermediate to advanced knowledge of PSRS/PEERS policies, procedures, business practices, and regulatory requirements, using this expertise to guide system enhancements, resolve challenges, and ensure continuity and accuracy across critical business applications. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as the role involves conveying complex information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Candidates should possess strong abilities in business analysis, requirements gathering, systems testing, and quality management. They should be proficient in evaluating business systems, identifying technical and process-based solutions, planning and coordinating system design and testing activities, and managing enhancements driven by legislative or regulatory changes. The ability to lead discussions, facilitate collaborative problem-solving sessions, and provide guidance to Business Systems Analyst I staff is an important component of the role.
Ideal candidates will navigate assignments with confidence and independence, effectively managing competing priorities and applying creativity and critical thinking to develop modern, efficient solutions. They should be comfortable presenting to groups of varying sizes, building strong working relationships across departments, and coordinating work between business users, IT professionals, and third-party vendors. Proficiency with standard business applications and specialized platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, and Azure DevOps is expected.
A bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field is required, along with two years of experience as a Business Analyst. Experience in a similar PSRS/PEERS or pension-related role may be substituted. Professional certifications such as a Business Analyst or Project Management Professional credentials are highly desirable. A valid Missouri driver’s license is required for use of a company vehicle.
