The Missouri Council of School Administrators (MCSA) is seeking an innovative educational leader to serve as its first MCSA Director of Principal Leadership
Supporting both the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals (MAESP) and the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MoASSP), this position will lead the development of year-round professional learning for principals, assistant principals and aspiring school leaders across Missouri. The Director will create engaging learning experiences that strengthen school leadership, increase member engagement, and support the continued growth of both associations.

Position Summary
The Director of Principal Leadership is responsible for designing, coordinating, and evaluating professional learning opportunities for Missouri school leaders. Working closely with the Executive Directors of MAESP and MoASSP, this individual will develop an annual calendar of workshops, leadership institutes, academies, retreats, and virtual learning opportunities that reflect the evolving needs of school leaders.
The Director will have the opportunity to recommend and develop new programming while ensuring all offerings align with the strategic priorities of both associations. The position will officially begin on July 1, 2027, allowing for a thoughtful planning and onboarding period prior to launch.
Work Location & Schedule
This is a hybrid position with flexibility for virtual work and regular in-person work in Jefferson City and Columbia, Missouri. The Director will also travel throughout Missouri to develop, coordinate, and support professional learning opportunities. The position requires flexibility based on programming, meetings, and events.
Primary Responsibilities
· Develop and implement a statewide professional learning calendar for principals and assistant principals.
· Design innovative leadership development opportunities, including workshops, retreats, academies, and regional events.
· Identify emerging leadership needs and create programming that addresses those needs.
· Build strong relationships with school leaders, presenters, universities, educational partners, and sponsors.
· Recruit and support presenters while coordinating event logistics from planning through evaluation.
· Develop annual programming budgets and monitor financial performance.
· Collaborate with association staff to market programs and increase participation across Missouri.
· Evaluate participant feedback and use data to strengthen future programming.
· Recommend new initiatives that increase member engagement and generate sustainable non-dues revenue.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for and evidence of developing educational leaders and creating exceptional learning experiences.
Preferred qualifications include:
· Experience leading educational organizations, schools, districts, or leadership development initiatives.
· Experience planning or facilitating professional learning for adult learners.
· Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects while working independently.
· Experience developing partnerships and building professional relationships.
· Willingness to travel throughout Missouri.
A master’s degree in Educational Leadership or a related field is required.
Compensation & Benefits
MCSA offers a competitive compensation package in the range of $85,000-99,900 in salary and benefits, commensurate with experience. This does not pay into PSRS. Health and matching 401K options are optional benefits.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $99,000.00 per year
