Financial Consultant
The Financial Consultant will support client projects through day-to-day operations, serve as a team lead and primary client communicator, develop and present client reports, analyze client operations and processes, take an active role in internal SimiTree initiatives and assist the consulting team in creating efficiencies for our clients within the home healthcare, hospice, and behavioral health industries. Our Financial Consultant position is classified as a working supervisor with base level industry experience within SimiTree's Consulting Division. Engagements completed at the Financial Consultant level serve as the foundation for growth into a middle management role within the company, and strengthen the expertise needed to provide exceptional consulting services. This is a fully remote position with minimal travel expectations to client sites, but travel requirements do increase for tenured staff.

To provide our clients with an opportunity to focus on core operations, SimiTree provides outsourcing services for Coding and OASIS reviews, Billing and Collections, and full Revenue Cycle services. SimiTree's client base ranges from small, community-based agencies to publicly traded national chains. We have both the technical expertise and the real-world experience to implement seamless solutions that assist agencies in a rapidly changing operational and regulatory environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Project Work for SimiTree Revenue Cycle Clients, including but not limited to Billing, Accounts Receivable Management, Eligibility Checks & Prior Authorizations
- Client Management, Data Collection, Development, and Processing of Medicare & Medicaid Cost Reports
- Financial Analysis & Dashboarding
- Effectively Manipulating and Summarizing Large Data Sets or Analyses
- Completion of Work Papers & Client Deliverables
- Day-to-day Client and Project Management of Engagements on SimiTree's Interim Revenue Cycle and Cost Reporting Teams
- Development of SimiTree Entry-Level Financial Consulting Associates
- Junior Member Making Contributions to SimiTree's Consulting Engagements
- Regulatory Research
- Support of other SimiTree Divisions, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Data Analytics, Compliance and Revenue Cycle Management
- Other Responsibilities as Assigned
Competencies/Behaviors/ Job Expectations:
- Average 45-hour work week
- Ability to remain highly productive and produce quality work output in a fully remote setting
- Occasional travel to client sites or SimiTree events, estimated to be a max 15-20% of weekly time
- Maintenance of a professional and collaborative approach with both internal teams as well as externally with client presentations
- Develops project strategy when in Project Manager role; completed with guidance/oversight from division leadership. Communicates trends and recommends opportunities for process improvement/increased productivity within both assigned projects and internal division workflows.
- Responsible for leading communication amongst project teams, both internal and external. Able to lead meetings with external clients and serve as primary resource for client communication. (with assistance of PM)
- Uses best practices and knowledge of business issues to improve processes or services. Begin to identify client needs (i.e. operational breakdowns) beyond the core function of your team
- Displays consistent willingness to go above and beyond assigned projects to support team members or other project teams as opportunities are identified. Makes efforts to get involved in division or SimiTree initiatives beyond assigned projects. Continues to ask pertinent questions to division leadership to expand skillset/knowledge and seeks opportunities to accelerate growth in functional areas of interest.
- Has the ability to serve as a resource to project team and other SimiTree members on core area(s) of expertise. Takes a more active role within projects aligning with area(s) of expertise but continues to seek out opportunities for expanded knowledge.
- Acts as a resource for coworkers with less experience and may manage a small team (both internal and external) along with being measured on their own contribution. Role(s) may include a hybrid of project management/team oversight functions along with day-to-day staff level responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Health Policy Administration, Accounting, or other relevant field OR 2+ Years of Experience in a Consulting Environment or Home Health/Hospice/Behavioral Health Role
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with and present information to mid- and staff-level client personnel.
- Strong quantitative and analytic skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing working environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and an aggressive approach to excellence
- High energy individuals with a passion for healthcare and solving complex issues.
- Ability to use sound judgment and escalate project issues to division leadership or engagement leaders.
Physical Requirements:
- Activities requiring a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks in front of a computer monitor.
- Ability to travel as needed for the position via airline or vehicle transportation.
- Regularly required to verbally communicate, listen, and give presentations as needed.

Salary range/ Benefits:
$85,000- $120,000 annually
The compensation scale listed is a general salary range and is not intended to represent the actual annual or hourly compensation rate for this role. An offer will be made to the selected candidate at the conclusion of the interview process based on their relevant experience and the responsibilities of the position.
