Cycle Counter / Inventory Analyst
Position Summary
The Cycle Counter / Inventory Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records within Sage 100 and ensuring system inventory aligns with physical inventory throughout the facility. This role supports production, warehouse, planning, customer reporting, and accounting by identifying discrepancies, maintaining item and bill of material data, monitoring inventory controls, and escalating risks that could affect production or customer service.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records in Sage 100 by reviewing transactions, researching discrepancies, and reconciling system quantities to physical inventory.
- Track daily production activity and confirm that production reporting, material consumption, finished-good receipts, and related inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely in Sage 100.
- Prepare and submit required production reports and inventory updates for customers, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
- Perform daily cycle counts according to the established inventory-control schedule. Investigate count variances, identify root causes, document findings, and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate reporting and control of customer-owned inventory, including monthly physical counts, reconciliation of system and physical balances, and preparation of customer inventory reports.
- Review and update bills of materials, item records, unit-of-measure information, and related inventory master data in Sage 100 as approved or required to support accurate production and inventory reporting.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify potential material shortages, inventory discrepancies, slow-moving inventory, or other risks that may affect production. Escalate concerns promptly to the Material Planner and appropriate department leaders.
- Partner with warehouse, production, quality, and planning teams to ensure materials and finished goods are properly labeled, stored, identified, and transacted in accordance with FIFO requirements, GMP expectations, and established warehouse procedures.
- Assist in maintaining strong warehouse inventory-control practices, including lot traceability, location accuracy, material identification, damage reporting, segregation of nonconforming material, and adherence to established storage standards.
- Support month-end inventory activities, including physical inventory counts, reconciliation support, transaction cleanup, variance reporting, and documentation required by accounting or management.
- Identify recurring inventory issues and recommend process improvements that strengthen inventory accuracy, transaction discipline, traceability, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support inventory accuracy, production reporting, warehouse operations, and customer requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant experience in inventory control, manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain, or accounting preferred.
- Experience using an ERP system; Sage 100 experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or contract-packaging environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical ability, and follow-through.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to work with inventory reports, counts, and data reconciliation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with production, warehouse, planning, quality, accounting, and customer-service teams.
- Ability to spend majority time on the production floor and in warehouse environments while performing counts, investigations, and inventory audits.
Schedule & Environment
· Onsite role Mon – Friday 8:00 – 5:00
· Overtime required during physical inventory.
· Ability to sit, stand, and kneel.
· Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
· Exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
