Business Development Representative / Outside Sales Executive

Compensation

Base Salary: $65,000
Commission: 10% of recurring revenue generated
On-Target Earnings: $140,000+ annually
Top performers have the opportunity to exceed $140,000, with previous sales representatives achieving this level during their first year.

Position Summary

We are seeking a driven, self-motivated Business Development Representative to generate new business for a growing Managed IT Services (MSP) company. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on prospecting, enjoys building relationships, and doesn't need someone telling them what to do every day.

You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing your own sales strategy, cold calling, networking, and closing new business with small to mid-sized companies. We are looking for someone who can walk in on day one with confidence, create opportunities, and become a trusted advisor to the owner—not just another salesperson.

This is a highly autonomous role with exceptional earning potential for someone who is motivated by results.

Responsibilities

Prospect and generate new business through cold calling, networking, referrals, email outreach, and in-person visits.
Develop and execute your own territory and lead generation strategy.
Build relationships with business owners and decision makers.
Conduct discovery meetings to understand client technology needs.
Present managed IT service solutions and close new business.
Maintain an organized sales pipeline and document sales activities within the CRM.
Complete approximately 20–30 outbound prospecting calls per day.
Meet or exceed monthly sales goals.
Work closely with ownership to identify opportunities and share market feedback.
Represent the company professionally within the local business community.

Performance Expectations

Close approximately 1–2 new customers per week.
Generate an average of $4,000–$5,000 in new monthly recurring revenue.
Typical customer accounts range from $1,000–$7,000 in monthly recurring revenue.
Secure your first customer within the first 30–60 days.
Be fully ramped and actively prospecting within 1–2 weeks.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of outside sales or business development experience.
Proven success in cold calling and generating new business.
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
Comfortable creating your own prospecting plan rather than waiting for leads.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Organized with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience selling Managed IT Services (MSP) or other B2B technology services.
Experience selling recurring service contracts.
Former copier, office technology, or Xerox sales professionals are encouraged to apply.
