Full Job Description

Job Overview
Our busy construction company is seeking an organized problem-solver to join our team as our construction bookkeeper. Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience with bookkeeping in the construction industry. They will help our team ensure budgets, timelines, and job costs are accurate and oversee all financial transactions for the company, including accounts payable and receivables, payroll, and bank reconciliation. If you’re an experienced construction bookkeeper, with a great work ethic, and excellent communication skills, we’d love to talk with you.

Responsibilities

Oversee all financial transactions, such as credit card and bank reconciliations, and manage the accounts payables/accounts receivables process, and daily bank and credit card feeds.
Work with ownership, estimator, or project manager and provide detailed financial reporting to ensure costs, timeline, and budget of construction projects are accurately forecasted
Perform extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into accounting software
Update and maintain accurate financial records, customer contracts, assist with annual budgets, tax reports, and financial statements
Process invoices, AIA pay applications, checks, and payroll accurately and on time and resolve any invoice issues
Keep current job lists, invitation to bid lists, and reports up to date
Answer phones and company email
Vendor & subcontractor management – verify invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract terms, maintain up to date records of vendor and subcontractor information, file and manage lien waivers, insurance certificates, and other required documentation to ensure smooth operations and mitigate project risks.
Order material, call in locates, and track materials in and out of jobs

Qualifications

5 years of experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in the construction industry
Exceptional organization, problem solving, and communications skills are important
Familiarity with construction accounting concepts and best practices
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software, such as QuickBooks
Must have experience with AIA pay applications

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,600.00 per week
