Full Job Description

Job Title: Clearing Officer

Department: OP – Clearing

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Loan Operations Manager

Summary/Objective: To perform duties related to the bank’s money transfer activities.

Essential Functions:
1. Record FED incoming/outgoing wires in Fed monitoring worksheet; and counter check from the daily Fed funds transfer summary report.
2. Monitor and record Fed ending balance and reconcile between SCMS.
3. Record all incoming/outgoing wires with sequence control number in log books including writing up all related accounting entries vouchers;
4. Handling funds transfer investigation and prepare outgoing service messages from all different departments in FED Line Advantage system.
5. Check the output of the data entries in core system.
6. Verify the wire-in customer information from core system before passing to Retail Branch and other regions.
7. Confirm the total amount of all incoming funds from correspondents to counter control the appropriated dollar amount generating through our settlement account before 5pm.
8. Upload all Outgoing payments to Fedline Advantage system (payments and inquires for all branches).
9. Ensure all funds transfer related payment orders were effected and properly signed.
10. Record and process all incoming/outgoing SWIFT messages.
11. Deliver incoming swift messages to addressees.
12. Upload daily FX rates and forward the rates to branches.
13. Work with Treasury and branch for exchange rate against incoming FX funds. Input and release outgoing FX funds in Swift Alliance.
14. Process Visa, Unionpay and CDARs settlements
15. Daily reconciliation of The Bank’s USA USD account with The Bank’s New York Branch.
16. Administrator for HWBAM.
17. Information reporting and initiate transactions in FHLB’s 1Link.
18. Contact user for wire transfer and maintaining test codes for FHLB.
19. Backup for performing functions related to ACH transactions.
20. Job rotation/cross training with other staff.
21. Filing.
22. Train back-up personnel.
23. Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
24. Assist and support manager to achieve departmental and bank's goal.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these the Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone. Work is completed in person in an office environment. Walking around the office and talking to employees and supervisors is also required.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university. Three to five years of related experience and/or training.

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language/Communication Skills:
