Full Job Description

A. Scott Jackson Trucking Inc. is seeking a reliable, organized Dispatcher to support our commodity division.

This role is responsible for coordinating company drivers within our commodity division while also managing inbound and outbound loads for outside carriers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates clearly, and can keep operations running efficiently while ensuring accuracy in load information, compliance, and documentation.

This position is best suited for someone who can stay organized, think ahead, and maintain strong communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and assign loads to drivers.
Manage and communicate with outside trucks to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
Communicate load details clearly to drivers, including pickup, delivery, and special instructions
Work closely with customers and internal teams to schedule and manage loads
Monitor load progress and provide updates as needed
Ensure all load information, including weights and documentation, is accurate and complete
Manage driver Hours of Service (HOS) and ensure compliance with DOT regulations
Utilize ELD systems and other operational software to track drivers, loads, and availability
Communicate with office staff to verify load details and resolve discrepancies
Adjust schedules and assignments as needed to meet operational demands
Maintain clear and professional communication with drivers, carriers, and customers

Qualifications

2+ years of dispatching or logistics experience preferred
Strong understanding of HOS regulations and ELD systems
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple loads, drivers, and carriers simultaneously
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling load information
Basic computer skills and familiarity with dispatch or tracking systems
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and operational needs

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in commodity hauling, agriculture, or bulk transportation
Familiarity with inbound/outbound load coordination and scale operations
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
