Job Title: Financial Analyst
Duration: 18 Month W2 Contract
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Required Pay Scale: $62/hour

Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

Position Overview We are seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst with strong banking experience to support financial planning, forecasting, expense management, and business performance analysis. This role will partner closely with Finance, Technology, and Business leaders to provide meaningful financial insights and translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
The ideal candidate has deep P&L management experience, exceptional analytical skills, advanced Excel expertise, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to both finance and technology teams. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced banking environment.
Key Responsibilities

Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for a large business unit.
Perform P&L analysis, trend analysis, and version-over-version financial comparisons to identify risks, opportunities, and key business drivers.
Develop and maintain non-personnel expense forecasts, budgets, and financial models.
Support contract management and governance processes, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting.
Analyze financial results and communicate findings to Finance, Technology, and Business stakeholders.
Translate financial metrics and reporting into actionable insights for technology teams to support strategic initiatives and cost optimization.
Partner with business leaders to improve forecasting accuracy, expense management, and financial controls.
Prepare executive-level financial reports, presentations, dashboards, and management summaries.
Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Support audit, compliance, governance, and financial control activities.
Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting and planning processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial, operational, and strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) experience.
Banking or Financial Services experience is required.
Strong experience with:
Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis
Budgeting and forecasting
Financial modeling
Trend analysis
Variance analysis (version-over-version comparisons)
Expense forecasting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (expert level required; candidates should expect an Excel assessment).
Strong PowerPoint presentation skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to clearly explain financial data and translate complex financial information into actionable recommendations for technical and business teams.
Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience working in large, complex enterprise organizations.
