VP, Cross-Asset Quant Developer
New York, NY

We're partnered with a leading global investment bank building out a front-office quant development team focused on cross-asset risk and PnL infrastructure. The group sits directly on the trading floor and works closely with traders and strategists, with a strong emphasis on engineering quality, system performance, and scalable analytics.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving large-scale analytics systems, and working at the intersection of quantitative modeling and real-world trading.

What you'll be doing:

Contribute to a firmwide initiative to redesign and enhance cross-asset risk and PnL analytics frameworks
Build, test, and optimize Python-based libraries used to model trading desk exposures and performance
Partner directly with trading and quant teams to understand model behavior and improve transparency and efficiency
Debug complex, production-level analytics workflows and identify root causes of system or modeling issues
Refactor and improve existing code to drive better performance, scalability, and reliability
Work across a shared platform environment supporting a wide range of asset classes and trading activity

What they're looking for:

Strong programming fundamentals and a focus on writing efficient, well-structured code
Demonstrated experience debugging complex systems and working through difficult technical problems end to end
Solid understanding of how code executes at a systems level, including memory usage, performance, and runtime behavior
Ability to analyze inefficiencies in algorithms or implementations and clearly articulate how they were improved
Exposure to multiple programming paradigms, with an interest in functional programming concepts
Intellectual curiosity around financial markets and a willingness to build cross-asset domain knowledge

Core requirements:

Proficiency in Python and at least one additional language such as C++, Java, or similar
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to discuss tradeoffs in system design, including topics like memory management, runtime differences, and execution models
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degrees a plus)

This is a high-impact, front-office role with direct interaction with trading, offering meaningful ownership over core analytics systems that drive decision-making across the business.
