Full Job Description

Are you the kind of accountant who doesn't just hand over a number — you can show exactly how you got there? If so, we want to talk to you.

We're a growing organization with 20+ entities, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to own our day-to-day accounting, keep our books airtight, and provide day-to-day guidance to two accounting team members. You'll report directly to the Owner/CEO and play a key role in keeping our financial information accurate, organized, and fully supported.

We maintain our books on a cash basis (rather than accrual), so experience with cash-basis accounting is a plus.

What makes this role different: We value accountants who support the numbers, not just report them. When we ask "What's the number?" we also want to know "How did we get there?" If you love digging into the details, documenting your work, and being able to trace a figure back to its source — you'll thrive here.

What You'll Do

● Manage day-to-day accounting across 20+ entities in QuickBooks

● Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions

● Lead month-end and year-end close across multiple entities

● Prepare financial reports and analyses — with clear supporting documentation

● Maintain organized workpapers showing your assumptions, sources, and calculations

● Oversee AP, AR, and balance sheet reconciliations; investigate discrepancies

● Support budgeting, forecasting, tax prep, audits, and special projects

● Provide daily guidance to two accounting team members — prioritizing work, answering questions, and reviewing for accuracy

● Flag issues to the Owner/CEO with the facts, backup, and potential solutions in hand

What You'll Bring

● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)

● Several years of progressive accounting experience

● Strong QuickBooks experience

● Solid grasp of general ledger accounting and month-end close; familiarity with GAAP is helpful, though our books are maintained on a cash basis

● Experience with multiple entities or another complex accounting structure (strongly preferred)

● Intercompany transaction/reconciliation experience (preferred)

● Experience guiding or overseeing accounting staff

● Strong Excel skills

● Sharp analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail

● Ability to clearly document and explain your work

● Professional communication skills and a high level of integrity and discretion
