Overview

A premier senior living community in the Chevy Chase area is seeking an experienced Dining Room Manager to oversee front-of-house dining operations. This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness, and hospitality while ensuring residents and guests enjoy a warm and welcoming dining experience. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, uphold food safety standards, and foster a welcoming environment that encourages teamwork and guest satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional eager to make a positive impact in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily dining room operations, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation.
Lead, train, coach, and support serving team members to provide welcoming, professional, and efficient service.
Coordinate staffing schedules and ensure appropriate coverage for daily meals, special events, and community functions.
Maintain proper table settings and an attractive, inviting dining atmosphere.
Ensure meals are served accurately and in accordance with residents’ dietary needs and community standards.
Model exceptional hospitality and customer service in every interaction with residents, families, guests, and team members.
Provide hands-on support when needed, including setting tables, serving meals, clearing dishes, and assisting the service team.
Monitor dining-related labor expenses, supplies, and inventory.
Partner closely with culinary and community leadership to ensure dining services operate smoothly and efficiently.
Respond promptly and professionally to resident feedback, questions, and service concerns.
Help maintain compliance with applicable food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least three years of experience in restaurant, hospitality, or senior living dining.
Previous team leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Strong communication, leadership, scheduling, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and remain composed in a fast-paced service environment.
Willingness to take a hands-on approach and support the team wherever needed.
Integrity, compassion, and a genuine passion for hospitality and serving older adults.
