The City of Jesup is seeking a qualified and motivated Information Technology Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technology support for City departments and employees. This position is responsible for maintaining technology equipment, assisting users with technical issues, supporting cybersecurity awareness efforts, and helping ensure the reliable operation of technology resources used throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical troubleshooting abilities, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a professional municipal environment.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Provides technical support to City employees across multiple departments. • Installs, configures, maintains, upgrades, and replaces desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and related technology equipment. • Troubleshoots hardware, software, operating system, application, and peripheral device issues. • Performs routine system maintenance, updates, patch management, and device health monitoring. • Assists with user account administration and employee onboarding/offboarding technology needs. • Provides support for network-connected devices and general connectivity issues. • Maintains technology inventory records and equipment documentation. • Documents technical procedures, support activities, and equipment information. • Assists users with identifying and reporting suspicious emails, phishing attempts, malware warnings, and other cybersecurity concerns. • Supports cybersecurity awareness, password security practices, multifactor authentication, and technology-use policies. • Supports routine operational checks and continuity-related technology activities. • Provides technical support for City meetings, presentations, and public events as needed. • Assists staff with software usage and basic technology training. • Maintains confidentiality and security of City information and technology resources. • Completes required training and professional development activities. • Performs other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, Information Systems, or a closely related field required. Relevant technical training, certifications, and directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in IT support, desktop support, helpdesk support, network support, systems support, or a related technology role required. • Current CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications, or verifiable equivalent experience, required. • CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent cybersecurity training strongly preferred. • Experience supporting business technology systems, workstations, and common productivity applications. • Experience administering websites through a content management system preferred. • Experience supporting enterprise email systems preferred. • Practical working knowledge of workstation support, networking fundamentals, user account administration, data security practices, backup awareness, and business applications. • Strong customer service, communication, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license. • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.
