Come lead where technology has purpose: For those seeking an opportunity to lead a dedicated team of professionals and work within a collaborative and supportive structure, Kingsport City Schools is seeking a service focussed Chief Technology Officer to lead the district's technology vision. This position supports one of the many vehicles through which teaching and learning happens within our schools. The CTO is charged with helping ensure technology is seamlessly integrated into the efficient operations of the district, providing secure and reliable resources to students, teachers and staff.
As a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, the Chief Technology Officer will provide strategic leadership for technology services across the district—from cybersecurity, infrastructure, applications, and communications to instructional technology and technology-supported innovation. The CTO will work closely with administrators, principals, teachers, staff, and community partners to ensure technology is secure, effective, accessible, and aligned with the district’s mission of advancing student achievement and supporting exceptional teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Degree in job related area from an accredited college/university.
Equivalency: None Specified
Experience: Job related experience within specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is desired. Experienced in the implementation of technology in an education setting (K-12 experience preferred)
Required Testing: Pre-employment Physical Exam
Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
Continuing Education/Training: Maintain state license requirements if applicable.
